Help Us Welcome Our Newest Sister to the Table

The sisters at the table are so happy to introduce our newest sister….“Jennifer Spence”. We were sad to see Michele leave, but her chair did not stay empty long, and we have been blessed with another great writer who has something to say about the challenging life of the “Single Working Mom!”

So; do not fear all you moms out there who felt like taping your kids to the wall until dinnertime yesterday (smile), we do have someone to encourage you in the fact that you are not alone when it comes to the ups and downs of single parenting.

Welcome Jennifer!!!

Hi, I’m Jennifer N. Spence and I work with women and children in need and also part time at a Mental Health Hospital. My MOST important job is that of being a mother to my 13 year old daughter Kaiya. Being a mother to Kaiya has taught me patience, perseverance, creativity and an even better sense of humor!

Interests: Reading, listening to music, watching movies, spending time with loved ones and traveling (I can't wait to travel more frequently!)

Favorite movies: Spiderman 1- 3, 300, Gladiator, The Five Heartbeats, The Incredibles, The Notebook, Toy Story 1 - 2, Beauty and the Beast, The Prince of Egypt

Favorite TV Shows: The Cosby Show, Martin, The Golden Girls, Scooby Doo, Spongebob SquarePants (Shhh... don't tell Kaiya, LOL!), House, The Biggest Loser, Modern Family and A Different World.

Favorite music: Fred Hammond, Stevie Wonder, Israel Houghton and New Breed, Jill Scott, Earth, Wind and Fire, New Edition, Corinne Bailey Rae, music from the 80 s and 90 s

Favorite books: The Pursuit of Happiness by Chris Gardner, Gifted Hands by Dr. Ben Carson, The Jester and Alex Cross books by James Patterson, inspirational books and cookbooks

Make sure you join Jennifer on her first blog posting: Wednesday, May 19th, I promise you will be very glad you did!

Thursday’s Blog: Ponnie has a special blog to inspire all women to feel special and loved on Mother’s Day whether they are mothers or not. Be sure to stop by and sit with her.
