Blessings for You!

As I'm reading through the Old Testament, I've noticed that from the beginning (Genesis) people spoke blessing over one another. Messiah tells us to bless those who mistreat us. In our Women’s Bible Study, our teacher asks that someone speak a blessing from the Bible over us to end the class. What a great use of our words—blessings others. So today, I want to write a few blessings for all who read this blog. I’m using the Complete Jewish Bible….

….May you be continually strengthened with all the power that comes from His glorious might; so that you will be able to persevere and be patient in any situation, joyfully giving thanks to the Father for having made you fit to share in the inheritance of his people in the light.

….May you clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together perfectly; and let the shalom which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s decision-maker.

….May you behave wisely toward outsiders, making full use of every opportunity — let your conversation always be gracious and interesting, so that you will know how to respond to any particular individual.

….May you pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, steadfastness, gentleness, and fight the good fight of the faith.

….May you remain steady in every situation, endure suffering, do the work that a proclaimer of the Good News should, and do everything your service to God requires.

….May you practice the faith of our Lord Yeshua, the glorious Messiah, without showing favoritism.

….May you apply your mind to discipline and your ears to words of knowledge.

….May you always reject the advice of the wicked.

….May you guard yourselves against false gods!

….May you keep growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Deliver, Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus the Christ). To him be the glory, both now and forever! Amen.

….Finally, may you be one in mind and feeling love as sisters; and be compassionate and humble-minded, not repaying evil with evil or insult with insult, but, on the contrary, with blessings.

I challenge you to: Send a card to someone with nothing but blessings written to them. See what type of response and blessings you receive.

Love & Hugs
